Ann Marie Segna Obituary
Ann Marie Segna, age 92, of Montgomery, passed away on Tuesday, October 5, 2021 in at her Praha home in New Prague. Visitation will be held on Monday, October 11 from 9am-11am with Mass of Christian Burial at 11am all at Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery with Father George Grafsky officiating. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery in Montgomery.

Ann Marie Segna was born at the home of her parents, Alice (Hancuch) and Edward F. Jindra, on July 25, 1929. She was the oldest of 2 girls. She attended St. Raphaels School, presently Holy Redeemer School, through 8th grade and graduated from Montgomery High School in 1947. Upon graduation she worked at Green Giant, Queen of Peace Hospital, Munsingwear, Sweeneys Drugstore, did bookkeepinging/secretarial work for GTA in Montgomery until the fire, then to Harvestore in New Prague, and ended the last 18 years of her fulltime working career as the Deputy Clerk Treasurer for the City of Montgomery. She retired in 1994. Following her retirement, she did some part time work for Ruth Tumas Boutique in rural New Prague and Freds grocery store deli in Montgomery.

Ann married Leonard Segna on October 16th, 1948. Ann met Leonard, through his sister while working at Queen of Peace Hospital in New Prague. Ann and Leonard had 4 sons, Butch (Leonard Jr.), Edward, John and Dann. The couple enjoyed traveling, entertaining and playing cards with their friends.
Ann has been a lifelong parishioner of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. For many years she was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and also served as President. She was a member of the Montgomery Czech Singers, the Red Hatters, Catholic Christian Women, and a leader of the boys scouts when her boys were young.

She is survived by her four sons, Butch (Leonard Jr.) and wife Clarice of Shakopee, Ed and wife Eileen of Montgomery, John and wife Kathy of Montgomery and Dann and wife Chris of Montgomery. Eight grandchildren: Katie Mitchum of Shakopee, Chip (Cindi) Segna of Lakeville, Joy (Andy) Vosejpka of Montgomery, Robert (Ashley) of Montgomery, Julie (Matt) Finkenbiner of Lonsdale, Bryce (Stacey) Segna of Chaska and Rachel (Brandon) Luehmann of Winona: 12 great grandchildren: Cera Mitchum; Madelyn, Ian, and Owen Segna; Ruby and Jaxson Vosejpka; Max and Mikayla Segna; Deacon and Zoey Finkenbiner; and Aiden and Olivia Segna; 1 sister, Dolores (Milo) Kaisersatt of Montgomery.

Ann enjoyed reading, playing cards and bingo, doing word searches and scratch offs, and visiting with her sons and their families. Her longtime pet companion of 12 years, Maggie the cat, brought her continous enjoyment.

Ann was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Leonard and grandson Brandon Segna.

She definitely was the matriarch of the Segna family, she was loved and will be greatly missed!
