Carl Nicholas Weinandt Obituary
Carl Nicholas Weinandt, age 71, of Cleveland passed away on Saturday, January 22, 2022 at his home holding the hands of his wife and daughter. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 28, from 4pm-7pm at Le Center Funeral Home in Le Center. Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, January 29 at 10am with visitation one hour prior at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Le Center with Father James Stiles officiating. Military Honors will be provided by the Le Center and Cleveland Area Veteran’s Honor Guard.
Carl was born on August 4, 1950 to Eugene and Mary (Berreau) Weinandt in Worthington. He graduated from Mankato High School in 1968. Carl served in the United States Army as a sergeant from 1968 to 1971. Carl was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart, Barb Wilking, on January 15, 1972 at All Saints Church in Madison Lake.
Carl was a member of the VFW (life member), Cleveland American Legion and he retired from the Cleveland Fire Department after 20 plus years. He enjoyed deer and duck hunting, fishing, working in his garage on anything with a motor and spending time with family.
Carl is survived by his wife Barb of 50 years; children, Jason (Elizabeth) Weinandt of St. Clair, Jessica Tordsen of Marion, IA and Jarod (Shannon) Weinandt of Mankato; siblings, Albert (Norein) Weinandt of Madison Lake, Mary (Jeff) Warszynski of Atwater, Jay Weinandt of St. Peter, Joe (Connie) Weinandt of Madison Lake, Julie Malenke of Brewster, Ann (Kent) Reeves of Madison Lake, Paul (Desiree) Weinandt of Atwater; grandchildren, Julia (James) Lange, Joshua Tordsen, Gavin Weinandt and Mairin Weinandt; great-grandchildren Addalynn, Nicholas and Carly.
Carl is preceded in death by his parents, Mary and Eugene Weinandt and brother-in-law, Mark Malenke.
