Raymond Edward Holey Obituary
Raymond Edward Holey, age 88, of Montgomery passed away on Thursday, June 2, 2022 at District One Hospital in Faribault. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 9 from 9am-10:45am at the Schoenbauer Funeral Home in Montgomery. Mass of Christian Burial will be held also on Thursday at 11am at Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery with Father Tom Niehaus officiating. Interment will be held in Calvary Cemetery in Montgomery.

Ray was born on March 29, 1934 in Erin Township, Rice County, at home to Edward and Clara (Peterka) Holey. He was a caregiver to his parents throughout their life and a farmer. He also worked at Green Giant for many years on the wash-up crew. He enjoyed playing a Czech card game called Darda. Czech music was something he enjoyed listening to and dancing to in his younger days.

Ray is survived by his nieces and nephews and their families: Frank’s children- Adeline Smisek and Mary Ann Malecha; Alice’s children- Clarence, Harold, Darlene Malecha, Delores Novotny, Dorothy and Debra Warnemunde; Milo’s children- Betty Messner, Jean Wolfe, JoAnn Shaughnessy; Rose Marie’s children- Kurt, Craig, Karla Newman, and Mary Williams, and his great-niece and caregiver, Brenda (Smisek) Pederson. Many other relatives and friends will miss him as well.

Ray is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Frank (Anna) Holey, Alice (Eugene) Moravec, Anna Holey, Milo (Helen) Holey, Rose Marie (William) Havlicek: his nephews Donald Moravec, Milo Holey Jr., Merle Havlicek and his niece Lori Havlicek Torres.
