Dena Kay Becker Obituary
Dena Kay Becker, age 54, of Le Center, passed away on Sunday, February 12, 2023 at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 16 from 3pm-7pm at Le Center Funeral Home in Le Center. Services will be held at a later time in Oquawka, IL.

Dena was born on September 13, 1968 in Burlington, IA to James and Dina (Melburg) Whipps. She attended Le Center High School. She then went on to graduate from South Central Community College with a degree in Graphic Arts. Dena was united in marriage to Daniel Becker on December 15, 1995 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Le Center. After working at Casey’s in Le Center for many years she went on to drive school bus for Palmer Bus for the past 14 years. She had a special love for driving all the children on her bus over the years.

She was the director of the Creative Arts Building at the Le Sueur County fair for the past 20+ years. She enjoyed crocheting, needle work, bird watching and animals. Her love for animals had no boundaries, and she loved her grand pups dearly.

Dena is survived by her husband, Dan Becker of Le Center; daughter, Desiree (Brandon) Becker of Brownton; father, Jim Whipps of Le Center; nephews, Cody Thelemann, Jacob Thelemann, Blake Whipps; other nieces and nephews; siblings, Pamela (Will) Seaton of Oquawka, IL and Brian (Lynn) Whipps of Burlington, IA.

Dena is preceded in death by her mother, Dina Whipps; grandparents, AC & Adelyne Melburg.
