Michael Jerome Claffey, age 62 of Dayton, MN, passed away on July 31, 2023 at his home. Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 12, 2023, from 8:30 a.m.-10:30 a.m. at St. Canice Catholic Church in Kilkenny with Memorial Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be held in Calvary Cemetery in Kilkenny, MN.

Michael was born on October 9, 1960 with his twin sister, Patti, to Jerome and Patricia (Loftus) Claffey. He was a graduate of Le Center High School and then attended vocational college where he obtained his Associates Degree as an electrician. Michael married Patti Joe (Smith) Claffey on August 29, 1987, and together they had two children, Cole and Katie Joe. Michael was a loyal employee at Altus Properties and worked as an electrician for over 35 years. Michael was a proud Irishman who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, a good laugh in his workshop, and caring for his four legged companion, Rudy.

Michael is survived by his children, Cole Claffey of St. Louis Park and Katie Joe (Zachary Rohr) Claffey of Hastings; siblings, Kathleen Blaschko of New Prague, Margaret (Francis) Smith of Le Center, Colleen Schrom of Maple Grove, John (Ann) Claffey of Le Center, Patricia (Chip) Hutton of Eden Prairie, Robert (Debbie) Claffey of Le Center, Francis (Ann) Claffey of Easton, WA, and Lori (Pete) Anderson of Prior Lake; and many nieces and nephews.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, James Claffey.
