Norbert Francis Krenik, age 94 of Le Center passed away at Pathstone- Ecumen in Mankato on Wednesday, October 11, 2023. Visitation will be held on, Wednesday, October 25 from 3pm-7pm Rosary at 2:45 pm at the Le Center Funeral Home in Le Center. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, October 26 at 11am with visitation 9:00am -10:30am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Le Center. Interment will be held in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Lexington. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to St. Mary’s Catholic Church or a charity of the donor’s choice.

Norbert was born on December 24, 1928 in Cordova Township to Edward and Agnes (Svoboda) Krenik. He was a graduate of McKinley High School in Le Center, and farmed near Lexington all his life until he retired in 1984. He was united in marriage to Teresa Schumacher on June 1, 1950 at St. Thomas Catholic Church in St. Thomas. They were married 72 years.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, and watching amateur sports. He was a member of the KC’s, COF, Variance Board of Le Sueur County, was a trustee and parish council member at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Lexington, sang in church choirs, drove mail route, delivered Meals on Wheels, and helped Tom and Diane Binczik with spring and fall work.

Norbert is survived by his children, Kathy (Mike) Minkler of Isanti, Dave (Mary) Krenik of Le Center, Bette Traxler of Le Center, Fr. Mike Krenik of Minneapolis, Brian (Belinda) Krenik of Pine Island, Andy (Karen) Krenik of Edina, and Norby (Carolyn) Krenik of Lake Hiawatha in New Jersey; daughter-in-law, Rose Krenik; 20 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; brother, Gordy (Kathy) Krenik; sister, Margaret Traxler; sister-in-law, Hanna Krenik; several nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Teresa; sons, Bill Krenik and Terry Krenik; siblings: Richard, John, Ed, Dan Krenik, and Delores Hruby.
