Wally Edward Edel, age 89, of Montgomery, died on Friday, December 8, 2023 in Bloomington. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 15, from 10-11:30 a.m. with Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. all at Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery. Interment will be held in Calvary Cemetery in Montgomery. Military honors will be provided by the Montgomery area Veterans Honor Guard.

Wally was born on January 5, 1934 in Montgomery to Edward and Bessie (Kaderlik) Edel. He was a Montgomery High School graduate. Wally served in the United States Army from 1954- 1956. He was owner of Edel’s Meat Market in Montgomery for many years. He enjoyed fishing- especially Salmon- in South Dakota with Roz, and dancing to old time music, as well as hosting family and friends for Kolacky Days.

Wally is survived by nieces and nephews, Pat Preble of San Francisco, CA., Roxie Preble of San Francisco, CA., and Mike (Ann) Preble of Bloomington; and great nieces and nephew.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Bessie Edel, special friend, Roz, sister, Maxine (Edel) Preble, and brother-in-law, LeRoy Preble; nephew, John Preble.
