Mary Agnes Budin, age 84, of Le Center, passed away on Thursday, January 4, 2024 at Oak Terrace Assisted Living in Le Sueur. Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 7, from 4:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Le Center. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, January 8 at 10:00 a.m. with visitation 2 hours before at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Fr. Tom Margevicius officiating. Interment will be held in Calvary Cemetery in Le Center.

Mary was born on September 27, 1939 in Faribault to Joe and Cecelia (Scheffler) Stocker. She was a 1957 graduate of McKinley High School in Le Center. She was united in marriage to Jim Budin at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Le Center in 1959 and they were the first couple to be married in the new church. Mary worked at various places throughout her life- Le Sueur County Recorder’s Office, Little Dandy, Brinktons, Winco, United Steel, Le Center Leader, Le Center American Legion kitchen, providing in-home daycare and cleaning homes. She also worked the food stand for the Le Center Community Club at the Le Sueur County Fair every summer, and was a member of the Le Center Lioness, Riders of Le Sueur County Saddle Club, the Le Center American Legion Auxiliary, and CCW. She enjoyed cleaning homes, and especially cooking for her family.

Mary is survived by her children, Bea (Mike) Budin-Grof of Le Center, Barb (Dave) Rands of Duluth, Bruce (Colleen) Budin of Le Center, Bev (Dan) Steffen of Le Center, and Brad (Tina) Budin of New Ulm; 17 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Mary Teresa Budin, May Stocker, and Ruth Stocker.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jim Budin in 2008; grandson, Christopher Steffen; great-granddaughter, Morgan Grace Buck; brothers, Hilary Stocker, Gilbert Stocker, and Jerry Stocker; in-laws, Sonny and Arlene Lukes, Skeeter and Del Blaschko, Donny Budin, and Bill and Lillian Hoffman.
