Jacob Tanner Feneis Obituary
Jacob Tanner Feneis, age 40, formerly of New Prague, passed away unexpectedly of natural causes at his home on Wednesday, November 22nd, 2023. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 2nd, 2024 from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm at The Revival on Main, 209 First Street South, Montgomery, MN 56069. Lunch will be served.

Jacob was born in New Prague on February 19th, 1983 to Tom and Lynn (Liebhard) Feneis and attended New Prague Schools. He went on to attend Metro State University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education with an emphasis in English. He taught in both the St. Paul and Minneapolis School Districts.
He had pride and love for his daughter Shaelyn. He was a treasured son and made sure to call his parents weekly for a long conversation which brought them much happiness.

He was a very happy child and was happiest riding his bike at the BMX courses in Mankato and New Ulm with his childhood friend Dustin Rasmussen. As an adult he continued to be an avid bicycler. He became quite well known in bicycle repair among friends and family and was always grateful to his uncle Paul who encouraged him to hone his skills and unselfishly took him to gather all of the tools needed to do those repairs. His love of music which was born out of necessity because of all the auctions and garage sales his parents took him to and his parents felt the only way he would continue to go with them is if they got him interested in a lifelong hobby. He also enjoyed birdwatching, hiking and camping. He had an insatiable appetite for knowledge and was consistently developing a wide variety of new interests. Those who knew him well knew he was well read and could engage in a long conversation in just about any subject that they could bring up.

Jacob is survived by his daughter Shaelyn, parents Tom and Lynn, sister Klair, and his grandma Bonnie Feneis ; also many aunts and uncles, cousins and friends.

Jacob was preceded in death by his grandparents Paul and Frances Liebhard, aunt Kay (Liebhard) Holtz, uncles Paul Liebhard and Patrick Holtz, cousin Bryan Holtz and godfather Tony Korba.

We were all blessed by the gift of having him for 40 years and may we one day be blessed to join with him again.

Arrangements are with the Le Center Funeral Home in Le Center 507-357-6166. On-line condolences may be left on our website www.lecenterfuneralhome.com
