Larry “Scoogie” Schmidt Obituary
Larry “Scoogie” Schmidt, 72, of Le Center, passed away at his home on Sunday, March 3, 2024. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 8 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. with Funeral service following at 11 a.m. all held at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Le Center, with Pastor Heath Queen officiating. Military honors provided by the Le Center area Honor Guard. Interment will be held in Woodlawn Cemetery in Le Center.

Larry was born on December 7, 1951 in Mankato to William and Harriet (McCabe) Schmidt. He was a 1970 Le Center High School graduate and then went on to Mankato Vo-Tech for Agri-Business. Larry was united in marriage to Susan Scheffert on May 11, 1990 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Le Center. He worked at Harvest States, Le Sueur Cheese, Le Sueur Foundry, Mystic Lake, GTA of Le Center, recycling for the city of Le Center, and mowing lawns. He was a member of the Le Center American Legion. Larry enjoyed sports, being outdoors, and loved his grandchildren.

Larry is survived by his wife, Susan Schmidt of Le Center; children, Becky Meyer (Travis Hanson) of Waseca, Leanne Ruhland (Dan Neuhaus) of Winter Haven, FL.; 6 grandchildren; siblings, John (Cheryl) Schmidt or Jordan, Elaine (Dean) Randall of Le Sueur, Ronald (Karen) Schmidt of Le Center, Rita (Rick) Hastert of Lakeville, William (Marlene) Schmidt of Apple Valley, David (Deb) Schmidt of Waterville, Norman (Debbie) Schmidt of Le Center, and Theresa Lloyd of Jordan.

Larry is preceded in death by his parents; and brother-in-law, Morgan Lloyd
