Bob was born on January 4, 1931, at home to John and Amanda (Muggli) Barnett. He was a graduate of Montgomery High School. Bob was united in marriage to Mavor Lee Otoupal at St. Canice Catholic Church in Kilkenny on June 11, 1952 - they enjoyed over 71 years of marriage together. Bob was the co-owner of Barnett Bros. Inc. Grading and Excavating Contractors, Loss Lake Farms, Inc. and was a member of the Knights of Columbus.

Bob had a love for the land and enjoyed working with big equipment; his machine of choice was always a Caterpillar dozer. He was still able to get out to work on the land as recently as March 10 and 11, 2024. Bob loved farming and growing crops and spoke very fondly of the days of raising cattle and hogs many years ago. His family and his deep Catholic faith have always been a priority in his life.

Bob is survived by his wife, Mavor, of Kilkenny; children, Carrie (Mike) Caskey of Holland, MN, JoAnne (Bill) Parks of Prescott, WI, Tim Barnett of New Prague, Laurie Lundeen of Long Beach, MS., Mark (Michelle) Barnett of Kilkenny, Julie (Ron) Dorshak of New Prague, Dan Barnett (Melinda Brown) of Kilkenny, Kevin (Keri) Barnett of Kilkenny, Al Barnett of Kilkenny, Pete (Bridget) Barnett of New Prague, and Ryan (Chantel) Barnett of Montgomery; 29 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; siblings, Don (Darlene) Barnett of Kilkenny, John Barnett (Sue Sullivan) of Chanhassen, and Mary Ann (Jim) Gunville of Chanhassen.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents; son, Joseph Barnett; grandson, Justin Caskey; brother, Bill Barnett; and sister-in-law, Jan Barnett; nephews, Joey Gunville and Mike Barnett.
