Dennis James Welckle, age 85 of Cleveland passed away on Tuesday, March 19, 2024. Services are pending with Le center Funeral Home.

Dennis was born on January 5, 1939 to George and Dorothy (Gostomczik) Welckle. He was a McKinley High School Graduate and joined the US Navy. He had a career as a pilot with Continental Airlines and retired in 1999. Dennis was united in marriage to Carol Newman on July 29, 1961 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Le Center. Dennis enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, boating, and traveling. Dennis also enjoyed playing cards and pool.

Dennis is survived by his wife, Carol Welckle of Cleveland; Son, Christopher (Shannon) Welckle of Prior Lake; Daughter, Cynthia (Carl) Bigby of Ft Worth, Texas; Grandchildren, Nathan Bigby, and Amanda Chang; Great Grandchildren, Carl and Caleb Bigby, Jade and Jasmin Chang, and Bethany Cape.
Dennis is preceded in death by his parents; and Daughter, Theresa; and Brother, George; and Sisters, Betty Blaschko, and Joyce Mitzel.
