Mary Elaine “Meg” Rethwill, age 72, of Le Center, passed away on Monday, April 1, 2024 at Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 12 from 4-7pm at the Le Center Funeral Home. Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, April 13 at 10am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Le Center. Interment will be held in Calvary Cemetery in Le Center.

Meg was born on October 25, 1951 in St. Peter to Hubert (Bud) and Marietta (Roth) Gartner. She was a graduate of Le Sueur High School and Mankato Vo-tech. She was united in marriage to James Rethwill on November 27, 1981 in Le Sueur. She enjoyed traveling, spending time with her family, bowling, bingo, and socializing with her friends.

Meg is survived by her husband, James Rethwill of Le Center; children, Mike (Neda) Johnson of Albert Lea, Teri (David) Malmgren of Mankato, Katie (Scott) McCormick of Las Vegas, Matt (Ashley) Rethwill of Le Center, Manna (Nate) Towler of Crystal, and Cassie (Zack) Matson of Montgomery; grandchildren, Cody Malmgren, Christina Malmgren, Veronica Rethwill, Trinity Johnson, Alec Malmgren, Lunden McCormick, Noah Johnson, Nathan Johnson, Colton Swanson, Harper McCormick, Reid Rethwill, and Owen Matson; siblings, Linda Loose of Le Sueur, Dennis Gartner of Shieldsville, Barb Sellnow of Blakely/ Belle Plaine, Sandra Asire of Wyoming, Tom (Geri) Gartner of Le Sueur, and David (Jill) Gartner of Le Sueur.

She is preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter, Riley Rethwill; brothers-in-law, Gary Loose and Darrell Sellnow; niece, Zetta Loose; and parents-in-law, Robert (Virginia) Rethwill.
